a Celebration of Creativity
For Immediate Release
Celebrate the arts in Second Life® and the 6th anniversary of
The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community with
Join the celebration of the arts brought to the grid at the annual Carnival of Arts 6 brought by The Dirty Grind Independent Artists Community and Radio Grind from December 6th through 8th.
This year will feature a new installation, "Eloise's dream" from the newest member of The Dirty Grind family, Bryn-Oh. The main stage will feature the diverse family of musical performing artists and poets will be sharing a wide variety of original and reimagined works, while many of the community's visual artists are displayed at the Artists’ Row Galleries.
At The Dirty Grind, artists and patrons are family and when one visits, one is a welcomed guest in their home. Everything from the décor, landscape and building design is intentionally planned to enhance visitors' experience. While visiting when live shows are not going, be sure to listen to the commercial-free independent radio station, Radio Grind, featuring the musicians of The Dirty Grind family. Spend some time strolling through The Hollow and enjoy the whimsically eclectic mix of Adirondack and Steampunk design and style.
Make sure to come back and visit often as the world is always evolving with new artists, architecture and experiences.
The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community has been awarded Best Unique Venue and Top 10 Live Music Venues by Showtime Magazine. We’ve also been nominated for multiple Avi Choice Awards.

Bryn Oh
Featured Visual Artist
In 2007, an artist conceived with the intention of seeing whether a digital character could be accepted and succeed outside its virtual world and in the land of flesh and blood artists. Would people scoff at the idea or would it capture their imagination?
An anonymous virtual artist named Bryn Oh was created. Since that time Bryn's work has been shown at Nuit Blanche, the World Expo in Shanghai (Madrid Pavilion), with IBM, in movies such as "My avatar and me" and in projects with people such as Cannes winning director Peter Greenaway (Big Bang) and artist Stelarc. Bryn was also a Web3D Conference presenter in Paris, France as well as profiled on RAI TV in Italy and Art21. Bryn has had the good fortune to exhibit in various Universities worldwide and has also been added to the syllabus of others. Bryn has been the subject of various thesis works and received several New Media grants from the Canadian government. The government grant is to produce a 30-minute machinima (Bryn Oh is actually even mentioned in this Wikipedia definition under 'sound in machinima') and to create an exhibit in a museum or gallery which would then incorporate Second Life. In September, Bryn was written about in Vogue magazine (Italy) while also exhibiting Second Life artwork at a museum in Rome (Museo in Commune).
The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community is proud and overjoyed to present Bryn Oh as the newest member of our family. Bryn will be joining Carnival of the Arts 6 with "Eloise's dream."

Who We Are
Our Story
The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community™ is constantly evolving our shared dream of a not-for-profit artist community in Second Life©. We constantly work with our artists, their management teams and our guests to expand and improve upon the already groundbreaking personalized w support we offer.
Our goal...our passion has always been to provide a haven for artists in which creativity and community flourishes. We are here for our artists and wish to extend our reach as a service organization.
The members of The Dirty Grind Family put their heart, soul, time and much more into their art. We give them our resources and experience so they can better concentrate on creating. Lisa and Ian share a background in music, business and non-profit
management.
Lisa's background includes innovation and leadership in the international, nonprofit sector, communication, creative writing and art knowledge. She is the founder and former president of a multi-national 501(c)3 and an independent mixed media artist.
Ian brings his experience with corporate administration, as well as management history with a brick and mortar theater and live music venue.
The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community is a not-for-profit artist cooperative. Our mission is to promote and celebrate our family of artists and introduce residents to the bountiful amount of art on the grid.
The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community™ hosts 100% live music shows on our home sim every Wednesday and Sunday. When you aren't here for our live music, you may always enjoy our 24/7 radio station Radio Grind.
Be sure to check out our beautiful Adirondack steampunk sim when we aren't having shows as well! Artists' Row™ features some of the grid's best artists with items available to purchase.
Radio Grind presents... listening and discovery booths are a great way to learn more about each of our artists and buy their work. We also host satellite locations of Radio Grind presents... on sims we feel are optimal to introduce to the residents of SL™ to what a wonderfully vibrant community of artists we have.
After all, every prim and pixel on the grid is art. If you would like to keep up to date with our artists' show, or what we like to call field trips, and our in-house shows and festivals, be sure to join The Dirty Grind group. You may also subscribe to our daily blog for up to date information.
